EndRoe.org
I am currently volunteering for an effort to end the pro-Roe litmus test for judicial nominees. Some lawmakers *cough*Specter*cough* will not accept brilliant judicial nominees who believe that Roe v. Wade was a flawed decision, against the will of the general public who have consistently voted to restrict abortions.
Roe is the most flawed decision since Plessy v. Ferguson. Roe v. Wade refused to acknowledge when human life begins and even stated (and I'm paraphrasing here) that if it were ever proven that the unborn were in fact human, their right to life would trump the mother's "right to privacy." But they were willing to take the chance of committing an untold number of murders until such time as the humanity of the unborn could be either proven or disproved. At best, this is illogical. At worst, it amounts to genocide.
Roe is an example of judicial activism at it's worst. The clear majority of Americans do not favor abortion on demand, but are forced to live with it because the judiciary has decided to play God, or worse, set themselves up to decide who will and will not live.
If you are pro-life, or if you simply believe that judges should not circumvent the will of the people on any issue - especially one involving human life, please go to endroe.org and send the email to your senators. Email it to your friends, and post it on your blog. All of the volunteers are working very hard to make this the most comprehensive and effective effort to date. I thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give.
*Note: Not that I'll stop it, but I'm asking that no one leave any negative comments on this post. If you don't want to participate, that is most certainly your right, but I am refusing right now to argue about the abortion issue. Every argument has been beaten to death, and now is simply the time to pick sides and fight for what you believe in. Thanks in advance.*
