Privatizing Social Security

Best idea any president has ever had since FDR screwed us with it during the Depression. If the Democrats had any brains, they would have come up with the idea themselves.

When the government collects the social security taxes, it doesn't put them in a "locked box" to quote the Gore. It invests all of that money. It gets a pretty hefty return on it which the government then uses to finance all the asinine pork barrel spending that it deems so necessary instead of passing it along in it's entirety to the actual investors, i.e. you and I.

Bush's plan - controversial for reasons that I have yet to discover - would allow taxpayers to take a portion of their social security and invest it in the same stocks the government is already investing in, and keep more of the return for their retirement. Please, sir, may I have some more?

Kerry and kind, don't like this plan. I personally believe it is because they didn't think of it first. But I believe they didn't think of it first because their first priority is to keep as much money under government control as possible. They disguise this propensity with lines such as "Bush is trying to channel more money to his wealthy business friends" when those "wealthy friends" have been getting the same money from the beginning.

I can't understand why, with the track record the government has, the Democrats insist that the government would be more prudent than the average taxpayer. Let me tell you. They really think you are stupid. They try to disguise it by claiming you need more education, but in reality, they think you are stupid.
